How we manage sustainability

In Skanska we believe that the attainment of sustainable growth is just a synonym for good business. For this reason the idea of sustainable development is a part of each linear organisation, and if it is not so, it is necessary to correct it.

For this reason Skanska is a decentralised organisation, in each business unit line management supported by statutory bodies and individuals /teams with the relevant competencies is responsible for implementation.

Structure of management

Skanska sustainable development is coordinated by the relevant units of Skanska AB. Management for sustainable development of Skanska AB also deals directly with safety, protection of health and safety at work and the environment.
The units of Skanska AB issue reports for the executive vice-president of Skanska AB.

Business units

Each business unit has its system of management for sustainable development which respects its specific conditions. Often it is the matrix structure of the organisation.
